Who knows where the time goes.

Sadly we didn't get going nearly early enough. An afternoon drive out to the very North of Cumbria, a visit to our rellies newly aquired property, and this Lichen caught our eyes in passing. Growing on a log, neglected and decayed over many years, and now in changed ownership.

Fading light levels and a lack of time and equipment sadly failed to produce a good enough blip of the bright red fruiting bodies on an adjacent specimen.

Amazing combinations of Algae and Fungi have grown symbiotically, producing these exquisite forms, developing completely uninterupted, and so reflecting the passage of time.
