From the window

What a gorgeous autumn day. The boys arrived in good form. They needed a second breakfast when they got here - Thomas toast and butter, James muesli, blueberries and yogurt. Then Thomas helped by getting all the cushions so I could get my foot up, while James went out with a bag to pick the last of the windfalls.

Then noble Mr C took them up Simonside. That’s the hill in the blip. The car park is at the bottom of the trees, then they have a steep track which winds up through the woods before reaching a forestry track which James said was the most boring walk in the world. When the got the the steep bit up through the rocks they found that much more fun. They sat at the cairn on the top for a picnic. James, ever contrary, decided to bring a stone home OFF the cairn instead of adding one.

They were very pleased to have climbed it - it must have been about 4 miles. Chris called to say a friend en route for Nepal had got turned back in Paris as she didn’t have a visa for India. She wasn’t leaving the airport as she was in transit, having an onward ticket for Kathmandu.

We are going to Carol‘S for supper. She’s going to the Seychelles soon for a spa holiday.
