Fungus
After a day of almost constant rain yesterday, we were pleased to wake to sunshine today. Particularly as we were being subjected to a planned power cut from 0900 to 1400.
We were a bit late getting going, so missed the opportunity to cook toast etc at home. Instead, we decided to go out for breakfast, at Green Pastures Garden Centre. Then we drove to Whitlingham Broad, and walked along the shore, before branching off to walk along the River Yare to Whitlingham Marshes. We came back via a woodland walk. There were interesting relics of lime kilns and chalk quarrying, lovely colours in the trees, and the berries of spindle, and then this wonderfully coloured stump with bracket fungus.
In total, we walked about 6km, which is the furthest I've managed in one stretch since my knee replacement.
