Cutting the meadow

There was a tractor running around mowing the field next door a couple of weeks back, that would have made short work of our little meadow.

We, on the other hand, took several hours.  We have a system now - I cut down the worst of it with a little battery powered hedge trimmer, then W follows on with the mower.  After a dry day yesterday, and in continued sunshine today, it was cold and the grass was still somewhat damp, but tolerable.  

We broke off mid afternoon, after clearing the meadow, to watch the rugby.  Hoping for continued good weather tomorrow as we need to tackle the pond.
