Dookin’

Did some apple dooking this evening...even the older members of the Barmy Army partook.

Love how that wee lad is watching the wee fella;-). They were both quite the experts getting their apples pretty quickly. Think that Buncle took the longest faffing about it.

All the while the wee fella was telling us how the apples represented witches being thrown in water to see if they drowned! Of course they couldn’t win because if they did drown then they were deemed nit to be witches and if they didn’t they were deemed to be witches and then burned at the stake! Violent and precarious times.

Grateful that society has at least moved on from this type of persecution.
