Common Enchantments

Far, far away

in the past..gas was 63 cents!   I found this old gas tank display in the lobby of the garage where our favorite mechanic  replaced the transmission in my Jeep Cherokee.   I will be driving it longer than I planned now in order to recoup the money spent..which was probably about a whole year of car payments!    It is okay though as I love that Jeep and she has been good to me up until now.    It would be really nice to fill her tank at 63 cents a gallon though!

A far entry for monomonday.   Thanks to 60plus for the prompt.

A rainy cool day here.  Plans to sit here at the laptop with music and cleaning up photos..you know how that job goes!   I think I only have three months that I need to create monthly folders for my keepers and then delete the others.    I really need a better system so I can find things.  I was looking for state park photos the other day and I knew they were there so it was look back at each month to see if that is when I went.   So a state park folder will be made as well as other places so that I can find photos by place instead of month.      We will see how that goes.  Tagging may be an option but then I will have to go back to tag every photo..it may be easier to just drag them to a folder!

Speaking of state parks, I entered a contest for an artist in residence at the state parks.  The parks are looking for artists to come to a park with cabins (for free!) and do artwork for the park facilities.    This is the first year I have applied and will get a notification in December if I made the cut.   Keep your fingers crossed.   The artists can be photography, painting, mixed media, sculpture and any other art form that can be displayed in the visitor center, park cabins, or at some parks, the recreation room.

Also a trip this week to Spartanburg to take the camera for cleaning..I think I will combine it with a mountain trip as Spartanburg is close to the mountains.   Maybe the fall color will hang on in spite of the rainy days. I have a high school senior portrait shoot tomorrow afternoon but with the rain I think we might be cancelling.    The sweet girl is so busy with school and activities that we are having a hard time connecting when she has free time.   Even if we can get an hour or so outside, I think we can get some portraits for her.   She is very much an outdoor child!
