Hong Kong with the Scots
What a lovely day we’ve had exploring Kowloon side.
I met up with the CBLs at Diamond Hill MTR to visit Chi Lin Nunnery and Nan Lian Gardens.
Lovely to see them again and I was so impressed that they managed the whole day out. What troupers!
It was hot and sunny and so not like last week. And the good weather is going to continue all week, yay!
Had a good look around and then walked across to Nan Lian Gardens for a little tea break. Then strolled through the rest of the very peaceful gardens.
We then headed to Wong Tai Sin to one of Hong Kong’s most famous temples. I had never been here before, and was really looking forward to seeing it. Very pretty, colourful and busy. Probably the busiest temple I’ve seen here. The extra pic is Mr & Mrs CBL at this temple.
Then a quick ‘dumpling’ bite to eat (when in Rome) and back on the train to head to Kowloon Walled City gardens where we had a really good walk around and many blip ops. Stewart and Carol had told me about the show The Travel Man where two famous actors go to various cities for 48 hours and do lots of touristy things. In the Hong Kong episode, they actually went to the Walled City gardens and met a gentleman who made animals from paper using only his hands and we actually saw this gentleman there! He cut out their Chinese zodiac animals and presented it to them. How lovely. I took videos and pics!!
We had planned to meet Martin for dinner at ... wait for it ... Crystal Jade :).
Loved enjoying one of our fav meals with them and making more memories.
Super day, and feel like we covered lots of ground! Hong Kong is so incredibly compact and easy to get around.
