Pictures from the past

Many years ago, when I was too young to appreciate it,  I was given a magic lantern and two boxes of slides by an uncle who lived in London and used to tour around giving slide shows in church halls. He later moved on to 35mm slide shows which also became my hobby.
While searching through the garage yesterday I came across the two boxes of slides  on various subjects including this old picture of a trooper on his horse at Horse Guards Parade, I would imagine from around 1900. I may come back with other slides in the furure
