Black Bull.....

A day of cattle related action. Once everything was fed, Gareth came in with a cow and a set of twin calves which hadn’t sucked. How come when the weather turns rotten , like last night, everything starts calving? Wee brother had one calve last night too.
Any way , managed to milk the cow out and bottle feed both calves. Then headed for Peebles to collect the Angus bull we looked the other night. He wasn’t keen to load into the trailer but once a bucket of feed was waved in front of his nose he soon changed his mind . He is now in with his new harem of 35 heifers.
And just to complete Saturday, had to go and calve a cow next door tonight( in the rain again ! ) a big Blonde heifer calf, out alive so worth the effort.
Stopped to snap one of the pair of very smart farm signs where I bought the bull. Liked the back drop of autumnal colours.
