100 years

A day for reflection - 100 years since the end of the First World War.  This picture taken as the light faded this evening, seemed to sum up the feelings of the day with the dramatic sky, low light and colours.

On more mundane matters, we spent many hours watching the owners of the two horses in the field in front of the house, chasing the horses around the field trying to catch one of them.  They were out in the rain and wind, tempting them with hay and horse nuts, nearly reaching them, before they took great glee in cantering fast away from them.

Later we had our own version of this chase - with Merlin, who managed to find a way through the thick hedge and wire fence at the end of the garden to escape into a neighbour's garden and then out into a footpath.  I was at the allotment at the time, so Andy called me as the dog was not responding to any recall or the temptation of biscuits.  I rushed back and eventually we managed to corner him along the footpath and bring him home.  So, Andy spent the rest of the afternoon fixing the fence - a temporary measure before we get something more substantial.

Wishing you all a peaceful Sunday evening and week ahead.
