Remembering
Our church was adorned inside and out with knitted poppies. Mainly red. A few white. And several purple in remembrance of animals that died in war.
The knitters in the congregation had managed 5,000 apparently.
I liked this moment of quiet.
I also liked the extra where the material from which the poppies had been cut was used, this year with the dates imprinted on it.
Rest of the day in the garden, reclaiming the dining room (90% there) and out to friends for the local park firework display and some food and conversation.
