Low Water

It was a lovely morning for our Wetlands Bird Count, although if the water level falls any further, we won't be able to call it that. It has nothing to do with the dry Summer, but is down to some engineering work taking place on the reservoir. There are still quite a few of the more usual birds - lots of Mallard, a couple of Cormorant, Black-headed Gulls, Moorhens and even a Great Crested Grebe, but the Mandarin Ducks which are usually there in numbers, appear to have migrated to the next reservoir up - apart from two. See extra.
