WidWed - Down my Way....

..... in this case it's "up my way" up over the tops onto the road across the moors which leads to Saddleworth - an area which comprises several villages and  hamlets and which for many centuries was part of Yorkshire.  In 1972 however when  the West Riding of Yorkshire was abolished it became a part of Lancashire - and this is still a bit of a sore point today with many Yorkshire folk. :-))

The moors can be bleak and harsh but on the other hand they can also be beautiful,  the light up there can change quickly, as can the weather. Down my way is probably best described as suburban but we're lucky in that within a relatively short distance there are plenty of open spaces.
