Penstemon
A dry, sunny day
Busy day with gym in the morning and a full session of people for the Listening Service. For whatever reason, the doctors are referring more people and I continue to offer two days a week every second week from now to the end of the year. It is fulfilling work, as people seem to respond well to the opportunity to have someone really listen and then engage in a conversation about what has been shared.
At lunchtime, I managed to capture this Penstemon plant, a native of North and Central America, and which loves loves hot, sunny conditions. Not much chance of those conditions here, but it survives well, probably due to the fact that we have not had any frosty conditions yet.
We certainly are living in 'interesting times' in the UK - and no one can be sure what the outcome of Brexit is going to be. It all takes me back to the day, almost exactly 28 years ago (23rd November 1990), when Margaret Thatcher resigned. Whether history repeats itself or not, our country really needs to 'sort itself out'.
