I don’t need ..........

..........a calendar to tell me when shooting season starts. : this wily old cock pheasant reappears on my lawn as soon as the first bang goes off )-D
this is the forth winter he has come and his tail gets longer with each passing year.
He knows he’s quite safe here and has me bullied into feeding him the very best of bird food :-O
I’ve gotten quite fond of him and he’s very nearly taking grain from my hand :-)
Which is all very well ,but twenty years ago I would set off with my dog and shotgun and tramp through the woods looking for one such as he to roast for my dinner !!

I must be getting soft in my old age :-O
