Nelson’s column
After the day off yesterday during which political churn in the news proved a distraction, it was back to work in the morning for a meeting of a short life working group looking at chairing children’s hearings.
The discussion was wide and varied and it was clear that any policy decisions could have intended or unintended consequences across a wide range of operational matters. So good discussion on differening approaches and exploration of the variations in practices across Scotland.
More work to be done and then circulation of proposals in the nee yesterday.
It was a beautiful day - so much so I got the grass cut when you got home (afternoon off). The view from the location of our meeting (St Andrew’s House) was great looking onto the Nelson’s Column. When the one o clock gun goes off a ball is lowered on the top of the building so that fishermen in the Forth could tell the time,.
