Where yesterday's shot was of nothing really, this shot has such a lot going on in it. There is something comforting about grain stores for me. Strange I know. I think they take me immediately to our favourite holiday destination of Northumberland. I know I've reached it when I see the grain stores just outside Bamburgh.
My boy finished his exams today with his last, maths, being 'solid'. I was unsure whether this meant it was a subject he was good at, therefore the exam was solid and he did well, or it was the kind of solid that was inpenetrable. He tells me it was the latter. Never mind we have time to work on them where necessary before the final exams next year.
We spent a bit of time together this afternoon. I think we were preparing for our two week stint alone. We do get on well. We discussed french fancies - the cakes. Both of us are unsure how you get the icing round them so smoothly but we agreed that Mary Berry would know. I think I will buy him a book on baking for Christmas. He has demonstrated such a light touch with sponges in the past. I reckon as a baking team we could see off Mary and Paul come the next series of Bake Off.
