Arquitetura socialista
I feel most of my current blips are of socialist tenement blocks in varying degrees of decay. Tune in soon for something different.
Today on the last full day that Ali is with me in Maputo we had a few good meetings, bashed out a few important tasks, had a few good chats about love, life and loss in the Congo (where she's worked) and elsewhere, and sank a few gins as we puzzled over budgets.
Our Airbnb may be a real slog up dozens of flights of stairs, but it has stupendous views. Baggage will be lugged back down in the coming days as I'm close to sorting out the contract on a more permanent apartment, which will feel much more like home (and is only on the third floor and won't result in calf burn).
