Domingo

A very quiet Sunday in Maputo; streets even quieter than Saturday. Not that we spent much time on them as we worked most of the day and made reasonably good progress by the end. To break it up we roasted vegetables and watched lion and buffalo duels on YouTube.

Gritty decrepit apartment buildings like this one that neighbours ours are what I remember most about Maputo from my earliest visit in 2004. Extremely characterful, but terrible problems with old smelly drains, if ours is a good indicator.
