Botaniblip

A new heading phrase which will be useful for some of my posts.

This is a seasonal blip about Holly. Of course everybody is familiar with Holly trees and bushes.

But look carefully at the two sprigs in this vase.
Had you noticed that the familiar spined leaves shown on the right just grow on the lower part of the tree which is in danger of being grazed. Above about six or seven feet, out of reach of deer and other creatures, the leaves are like those on the left, generally without spines.

Just thought you might want to know.

My extra is another view of Legotown. This shows the Hotel. It seems that Lego did not make very many of this model and that it is now worth several times what we paid for it.
