Papillomatosis

This is a fungal growth that really can hit Chaffinches hard. There are many infections of wild birds but this is one of the nastier looking ones. Clean feeding stations and water bowls/baths are necessary to help reduce cross infection.

People who ring birds in order to track them are often exposed to it.
