Pennan
This is the village of Pennan, where the film Local Hero was made in the Seventies. It is on the north coast of Banff-shire and looks on to the North Sea and the Moray firth to its left looking out to sea. The film starred Burt Lancaster and was a good hit at the time. Again another very steep drive down to the village. Parking is near impossible, as there is very little room on the single track street. Two years ago there was a landslip into the back of some of the houses caused by constant rain and bad weather. Defences were built and the rocks were tied to the cliffs.
