(Almost) Empty

Day 6 of recovery. I wanted to record for later reference that it hasn’t all been improvement in my recovery. I have to keep a catheter for two weeks, while the urethra heels having been cut apart to remove the prostrate. Yesterday I started to get an urge to go to the toilet. This can be dangerous, suggestive of a possible blockage though the bag continued to fill so probably wasn’t down to that. I spoke to a nurse at the hospital and it seems that this is quite usual, caused by the bladder spasming to try and expel the catheter.

At the end of the day there isn’t much that can be done, the only advise - drink more water. And that fits in with this week’s Mono Monday theme, empty.
