Not Quite Fantastic

Dear O'H dear and Lovely Tea Jenny,

The Mini Princesses and I went to see Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes Of Grindelwald.

To be honest, it was ok but I didn’t love it. There isn’t a strong enough story and there are too many superfluous characters and subplots which made it feel disconnected. It very much felt like a set up for the next film and I started checking my watch about halfway in which is never a good sign.

It feels even more disappointing because I bloody loved Harry Potter. I used to pre-order the books (before having children) and it’s one of these films which could be really great. The cast is amazing and the main plot is intriguing but it was too diluted.

I do however, love the post film chat with The Mini Princesses. When we get out of the cinema, one of us will hesitantly ask ‘what did you think?’ before we all enthusiastically offer our thoughts and opinions.

Oh, and we had popcorn and minstrels. That always makes for a happy afternoon.
