St. A

As it's St. Andrew's Day it seemed fitting that the nibbles for this evening should be haggis flavoured. Aye, with my mince pie and crisps diet I'm aiming to look like Fat Bastard's brother by January 1st.

+1/3's interesting fact for the day: did I know that St. Andrew was not only the patron saint of Scotland, but also of fishermen, sailors and Russia (probably amongst other places).

100 Carols for Choirs turned up today; my music teacher at school was the incredibly talented and enthusiastic Alastair Chisholm, responsible for encouraging and teaching many very talented musicians over the years. Alastair ran a junior and senior choir at the academy and come advent the green and orange Carols for Choirs (occasionally blue too) would be broken out of storage. As a result, I have an enduring soft spot for the arrangements of Willcocks and Rutter.

Alastair is still very much making excellent music, often to be found at the Cathedral of the Isles in Millport (if you happen to be passing).
