Apparently this is the most photographed clock in Britain after Big Ben. It was commissioned to commemorate Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee and officially opened on her 80th birthday in 1899 and stands in Chester on top of Eastgate on the site of the original east gate of the Roman fort.
