'Saturday at St. Andrews'
Dylan was out for most of the day for his mates birthday party at Timezone. I think they had a heap of fun.
Mrs R went down to watch a talk on Photo voltaic solar cells, so after Bella and I picked up Dylan we headed out to St. Andrews for some great music from one of my all time favourite guitarists 'Phil Manning'. He has to be one of the best blues / fingerpicking guitarists in the country and it's a real privilege to have him play so close to home every few months (and at no cover charge).
I've seen him play at heaps of music festivals and loads of concerts and he always amazes.
Some of the people he's toured with as their opening act for over the years are: Muddy Waters, Freddie King, Sonny Terry and Brownie McGhee, George Thorogood, Canned Heat, Roy Buchanan, Albert Collins,Alexis Korner, Duster Bennett, Hound Dog Taylor and The Houserockers.
He's also opened shows for: The Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd, Free, Deep Purple, Kinks, Taj Mahal, B.B. King, Albert King, Robert Cray,Odetta, John Mayall, Kris Kristoffeson and Rita Coolidge, Leon Russell and the Shelter People, Rory Gallagher, David Lindley and Wally Ingram, Bob Brozman.
Another brilliant afternoon of music had.
Thanks again Phil.
Another shot from today.
And another.
Here's a link to him playing at the same pub back in 2007 if you're interested.
