Tools of the Trade
I have been taking photographs since I was at school so over the years I have accumulated various tools of that trade , many of which have been used from time to time to take pictures for this site.
Reaching 3000 blips is as surprising as it is pleasing. I had blipped on and off for about a year before I decided to try and post an image every day. My intention was first of all to do a full year, and then to see if I could record a complete parliamentary term. Now I am more than half way through a second term of daily blipping and I hope to complete that before even thinking of interrupting the flow.
Because of the slight adjustment to numbers that this site has undertaken in recent days I have reached the 3000 two days after I had anticipated it. That has given me a wee bit more time to think of a suitable image and I settled on this because it does feature the things I have used including, increasingly, my iPhone 8 Plus which has the best camera of any phone I have ever used. It being St Andrew’s Day a wee touch of the saltire seemed appropriate too and the seat in the background was in my 2000th blip and is part of the view from my study, from where - when I am at home - I usually upload .
My 1000th blip was also about photography, inter alia, and I continue to get a great deal out of looking at other people’s pictures on Blipfoto and thinking about how my fellow blippers see things. So thanks to everyone who is part of this great community and to all those over the past 9 years or so who have worked to make it exist, and keep it in existence.
I don’t get to my 3000 continuous blips for another three months yet, but I will enter my 9th consecutive year of daily blipping on Hogmanay. So onwards...
