Getting ready

We went to see the rowers preparing for the Talisker Whisky Challenge big 3,000 mile row to Antigua today. Weather permitting, they will be setting off in 10 days time. It’s an annual event now and there are 28 teams this year. The extra shows one of the team’s dried food rations laid out ready to be packed securely in the tiny boats. We spoke to the parents of one of the female rowers who said their daughter’s boat had a,ready been sold to a party doing the race next year and their boat had already made the crossing three times. It’s a tough challenge and the waves can be 30 feet high so not for the faint hearted,
