Staying upright
Went to the Christmas Market by the Cathedral this morning - which was gorgeous as always - and watched the skating for a while. How they manage to jam so many stalls and an ice rink into such a small space is beyond me, but the location is fabulous. Sorry you can see more of it here, but you just have to imagine the great stone walls looming up behind the barrier and the smells of dried orange and cinnamon strings, mulled wine, hot chocolate, lavender, fried onions - oh, and people of course. This lad was trying hard - and succeeding - in staying the right way up, but lots of people weren't. Some mums sounded a bit fraught (especially when they landed) and a dad went hurtling into my camera and then told me he was a professional skater. I remained polite!
Back in the High Street I treated myself to a new sparkly top for our Choir Christmas Concert on Tuesday and a rather expensive sparkly necklace. Brilliant ceilidh band Threepenny Bit were playing for all they were worth round the Christmas tree and the cash machine got half way through dispensing my money then grabbed it all back. I ask you...
