Circle of Life

I found this ancient sapling fascinating on today's walk, proof, if needed, that nature endures. 
As the original old birch returns to the elemental new life grows forth from it, proud in its glory, obliviously grateful to the history that it's rooted in, the old that now gives way to nourish it.
