Duck and Whisky: perfect combination

Mr EF and I were supposed to be Christmas shopping - we didn't get too far. We stopped off for lunch at the Dining Room, Scotch Malt Whisky society and had two lovely dishes, a smoked duck salad and for the main course partridge, pearl barley and cabbage with the most deliciously intense gravy.

This photo was better than mine of the partridge, does it look as delicious as it tasted?
