Sing Out!

Busy busy day. Took advantage of my son's day off and got him to put up the Christmas tree--moving furniture, moving the tree itself, getting it all straight--what would take us hours, he accomplished in a flash. We got as far as the lights, and now it's my job to get the ornaments out of storage. Preparing for more rain, Mr S and I filled the entire Green Can with fallen leaves and the very strange inedible fruit of the dogwood tree. Lots of raking and sweeping. And then I planted a row of beets and a row of parsnip seeds. The tiny feathers of the carrots are just coming up. What a strange juxtaposition of twinkling holiday lights and a sprouting garden!
