Oh my darling...
My m-in-l is proving hard work.
Her transfer from hospital to a respite bed was a breeze. We could not believe how compliant she was as, historically, she was fiesty woman.
On Saturday morning, the care home called us because m-in-l was kicking off! We could hear her shouting in the background. Twenty minutes later, Clive was there. M-in-L was livid because the care home would not allow her to go for a walk and there was no one to take her. She felt the home too small, felt like a caged animal imprisoned.
Clive brought her home to us. Two hours later, she was still cross but could not remember why. Later she asked us to take her home as it was getting dark. She returned happily to the care home.
On Sunday morning, we went to collect her so she could spend the day with us and we arrived to find her having another hissing fit. This time it was because they would not allow her to wait for us outside.
Today, her room in the care home we chose for her became available so it was transfer day. We arrived to 10.40 to find her fast asleep in bed. (No doubt worn out due to two angry days)
We gently woke her up and she was pleased to see us and seemingly excited to go to the home we had so carefully chosen for her.
After breakfast, we brought her home here. I washed her hair and gave her a haircut. She watched David Attenborough on iplayer, we had lunch and then drove the 13 minutes to her new abode.
Then she threw us a curve ball. She went ballistic! After two hours, we decided to just leave the care home staff to it.
It is a wonderful home and I know some of the staff already through my work. It is the best place for her.
Now home, we are exhausted!
