The Elf on the Desk

I think a sort of madness sets in at this time of year.

I have had a very busy day.

Talking to a colleague, I noticed this on someone’s else’s desk.

“What’s this” said I.

“Have you heard of the “elf on the shelf” she asked. Yes I said (having looked it up, I think I had no idea really).

It turns out that C had sequestered a Christmas tree for the room, thinking it would look nice there.

The problem is it was someone else’s. L took it back. But she then sent back an elf (discarded earlier by C) with an unedifying accompaniment. It was returned. But it has come back, with accompanying paper roundels.

This may be the start of the elf wars.
