Australian Wildlife
Today we traveled out of the city of Melbourne and drove to the You Yangs national park, where we walked through eucalyptus forest and were lucky enough to spot not one but two koalas way up high in the branches, resting. This cutie is a young male, we were told by our guide. Later on, we walked through a field of native grasses where there was a huge mob of kangaroos. Here you can see a couple of them -- one definitely watching us as closely as we were watching him! We were also fortunate enough to see several emu, as well as quite a few swamp wallabys, and some sulphur crested cockatoos. What a thrill to see these beautiful creatures in the wild!
