The good news is my online Christmas shopping has started to arrive. The bad news is a lot of it is a bit disappointing and I think I may return or buy something to suppliment the gifts that are not quite as good as they appeared. I suppose that's the downside of shopping from the comfort of your own sofa! Grrr!

Was cheered up early afternoon by a visit from our friend Jude who is home for Australia for a couple of weeks. She emigrated 9 years ago so we only get to see her once a year. It was so lovely to catch up with her. The distance between us just dissolves and it's as though the last time we saw her was last week.

David worked from home so he could join us for a little while, which was lovely. As we hugged goodbye it was so weird to think that by Tuesday she will be back on the other side of the world.

Once Jude had gone thoughts turned to preparing the house for the arrival of the mad bunch who are descending on me tomorrow for our annual girl's get togther.

If enough wine in consumed there may be a game or two of hopscotch on the hall floor!
