Hung over?

We went into Banbury in the morning for L and J to get some essential bits of shopping (eg cat food!). We parked in a side road in Neithrop and walked to the centre through the park. This squirrel appeared to be asleep or possibly dead on a branch overhanging the footpath. Mr H tried clapping his hands loudly and the squirrel didn't even twitch. However, when we returned an hour or so later there was no sign of a corpse, either in the tree or on the ground - but there was a very lively squirrel of similar size and cut of tail dashing up the tree trunk with a peanut in its mouth.

We came to the conclusion that he had perhaps been sampling the dregs of a discarded can of cider, or similar.
