Sanbars Luke

Stallion "Luky" on the right, I'm not sure the name of the horse on the left.

Visiting friends Jeanette and Walter who were the breeders of our 1995 born Rosalie McKee. aka "Rosie" a good Bavarian name for an American Quarter Horse born on the farm, sire being Sanbars Luke and mother Donna McKee who they also owned. Generally, they had around half a dozen horses and often a few foals or yearlings as well.

They were not professional breeders but keen western riders and although they lived and worked in Munich had this ranch type set up in a beautiful isolated location just half an hour south of Munich very close to the Ammer Lake. It was also only half an hour from where we lived.

The "Kittenalm" ranch was a favoured place for lots of our social events and the occasional small tournament location for a loose group of riders in a registered (for tax purposes) society, "The Ammersee Satteltramps". I'm sure everyone can translate the title to understand it wasn't an elite group and much time was spent riding from one pub to another.
