Soft toy invasion

In the US and Canada it is common for ice hockey fans to throw teddy bears and soft toys onto the ice after the home team scores it first goal. Tonight this came to the Sky Dome in Coventry. Maybe not quite as many as you see the other side the pond (but then they have vastly larger numbers of supporters at their games).

It was still a sizeable collection that will be heading to charity for distribution this christmas.

In the game the Coventry Blaze won out 5-1 victors against the Breahead Clan from Glasgow. The Blaze are beginning to look a decent side after a couple of seasons in the wilderness. Virtually the whole squad has been changed after loosing a couple of key players in recent years. It's again becoming a pleasure to watch them. I suggest that the other Coventry City team come and watch some ice-hockey and see some real passion, skill and speed as well sportsmen who don't apply for an oscar when they fall over at the slightest touch.
