Grey jay

Now that the temperature  dropped overnight, what was slush yesterday is now ice!!!!  Luckily Terry had the foresight to go out yesterday late afternoon, with the plow (chains on the tires) and do some clearing, which made walking actually doable!!!

The little birds are going thro seed at an accelerated rate it would seem, we are filling the birdfeeder sometimes twice a day!   i guess they need to pack on some fat during the cold spells.   While i was doing that i was so happy to have a pair of Grey jays hang out close by .... they were pretty bold!  I've always thought of them as a shy birds, and so was all the more excited!  however, now Terry tells me that actually they are well known for their boldness!!!   oh well i still really enjoyed having them so close by!
