Lozarhythm Of The Day:
Shuggie Otis - Aht Uh Mi Hed (1974)
I'd never heard this until today when Iggy Pop played it on an old show I was listening to. It's from his album Inspiration Information recorded over a three year period up to 1974, and his first not to be assisted by his legendary father, Johnny Otis. The sax player on this track is Jackie Kelso who played in Johnny Otis's Show Band for many years, and also for Gene Vincent. This song, which has been sampled by a few artists subsequently, reminds me melodically of the Stones' Under My Thumb and the song title brings to mind a Stones album title, Out Of Our Heads, so maybe not a coincidence.
