After a day in the house, a trip out to the flicks in the evening to see the new Lars Von Trier film on the one night that it was playing in The Cameo's biggest screen.
'The House That Jack Built' is really not going to be for everyone, and if you only go to the cinema occasionally then you'd be forgiven perhaps for being completely horrified. But....and I'm loathe here to say that I 'enjoyed' it...I did think it was very impressive, albeit in a grim, yet at times very blackly comic way. And, the tongue is very firmly and very obviously, deep in the cheek as well, on occasions. But some of it is awful as well, in an extremely wicked and nasty way. What is definite tho' is, that Von Trier he really doesn't do things by halves.
