A day of reflections

After spending yesterday with mum there was no further news in the night. Dad rang this morning and was told she'd had a comfortable night.

We went straight up to the hospital, mum looked very peaceful, she only roused a couple of times when we were there. She still knows who we are, she has lost so much weight and is skin and bones, it will be a blessing when the time comes. No one should have to linger like this.

Dad and my cousin are at the hospital now, I've just spoken to the nurse who said they will move mum into a side room if she is still with us in the morning.

So for now we wait for the inevitable.
