Milford Sound NZ
Today we returned to the Sounds and cruised through Dusky, Doubtful and Milford Sounds in Fiordland NZ.
This mono of Milford shows the grandeur of the mountains. The tour boats in the picture are 3-4 levels high and Milford village is in the distance. There is snow on top of the mountains, the most famous is Mitre Peak which is 1600m tall ( not shown here). We had perfect warm sunny weather all day, most unusual for this area. Now we are on a two day crossing of the Tasman Sea ( aka the ditch) between NZ and Sydney. Wifi is flaky and I couldn’t upload last night.
Just for something completely different I went to a seminar and unveiling of Faberge eggs and jewellery. I had heard of them of course but not been up close to any originals before. We heard the history of the family and how they left France, travelled to Germany and settled in St Petersburg before the revolution. At that time they had family in England and these gorgeous pieces were made there by Theo Faberge. Bit pricey for my bank balance unfortunately.
This is a back blip for yesterday 20th.
