At Home: Blue and the dentist x

James Martin is an Equine Dentist. He came today to treat Blue.

Horses have to sometimes have their teeth checked. Blue has some sharp pieces on his teeth, which will grow into the soft tissue in his mouth if left to grow. James uses a electric rasp which artificially grinds the sharp edges away. The metal apparatus in Blues mouth is a vice that keeps his mouth open. It all seems painless. Blue, being the heaviest cob in the field, is no stranger to saying 'no thank you!' and walking away when he wants to. He was possibly a better than human patient, putting up with the grinding noise very well!

James incidentally is also a world triathlon competitor. He was chatting about a recent trip to New Zealand to compete against other nations. You can complete at triathlon at any age. There is even an 70+ age group......No excuses for slowing down at 40 then! x
