Timber!

Today the road was closed outside our house so that the lumberjacks could take down a diseased oak in the St Saviours Church grounds.
This meant diversions in place.
This meant cancelled and re-routed buses.
Jonathan was disappointed he couldn't be here to see the tree come down.
Sophie was disappointed because the junior choristers "base" for tag was being removed.
Daddy was disappointed because the wood was being taken away and would have kept our fire going for years to come.
A great day to work outside for the men, a mixture of hail and sunshine - so far.
