Diary of an Edinburgher

By LadyMarchmont

Only one more day of silly hats, Archie.

I popped to the doctor this morning, not about my knees (she was relieved to hear) but my sore wrist. I had assumed it was arthritis, but she reckons I’ve got (the rather scarily named) 'carpal tunnel', which is actually (slightly) better, because it can be cured. Apparently I’ll wear a splint at night and she mentioned a steroid injection into the wrist (EEEEK!). But we'll get the knees seen to first - early January. I'm counting the days...

On the way back from the doctor, I spotted a nice little three tier cake stand, with just one wee chip on one plate. When I announced to JR that I’d brought her a present, she was very pleased but asked how much it was - we have a wee charity shop which is worth popping in to now and again - so maybe I shouldn’t have told her I got it at the bin...

What a beautiful day it was! Clear blue skies, bright sunshine, but frosty patches where the sun hadn’t reached. Zoe and Leo came for a walk up the hill - it was glorious! (Extra 1). Loads of people and dogs and No Wind. Archie ran between us for ages, and Leo was delighted to be able to give Archie a wee treat each time he ran back to us (Extra 2)

Back home for a cuppa and mini mince pies (on the new cake stand), a snooze for a tired Archie, and a favourite computer game on my iPad for Leo.

A most pleasant day.

One more sleep!
