Le Touquet Paris-Plage
We were up early this morning as we had to check out at 11am. It was frosty and very cold, but such a beautiful morning with a very pink sky, so while Alan packed the car I wrapped up and went for a walk to the beach to get today's blip which I spotted last night. I saw these beach huts the other day, but from the front and side which are painted white, and then last night we saw them from the back and noticed the artwork which shows the huts as they were many years ago and when you could hire beach huts and swimming costumes!
Le Touquet Paris-Plage has a reputation as the most elegant beach resort in Northern France and is the playground of the Paris bourgeoisie. There are miles of sandy beaches, a very attractive town with excellent shops and restaurants, and then woodland beyond so it has something for everyone. Even President Emmanuel Macron has a home here!
Our journey home was fine although it was very busy at the tunnel and took nearly an hour from arriving to actually getting through passport control, but again our train was only about 30 minutes late. Even the M25 was ok, and we were home for about 3.15pm. We're unpacked, the nibbles are on the table, the wine's open and we're watching some of the Christmas TV that I recorded.
Happy Boxing Day!
