Snow Geese

Went to the Bosque del Apache with my son, the baby and the dog. Not as much hiking as the dog, baby and I would have liked, but a nice time was had by all. We saw more raptors today than ever before, hawks, kestrels, a falcon or two and some harriers. We saw one hawk sitting on top of a telephone pole busily eating something just caught. Later we saw a squabble between 3 hawks over something furry and just caught. It seemed to escape in the squabble. Geoff had the camera with the telephoto, so that my pictures of the birds are tiny little black blobs, well defined hawk shaped blobs but blobs nevertheless. so I went with the picturesque snow geese against the sun.

Today, I give thanks for the day I was given, my son, granddaughter and puppy and the wonderful sounds of geese and cranes.
